Afternoon, y’all!
Just a little bit of news regarding how I’ll be setting up pages from here on out: I’ve finally stepped up my game and begun using proper manga panel and bleed measurements. In other words, from here on out, all Ishea pages will be traditional manga size. Exciting, I know!
I’m also going to be experimenting with a stronger mix of traditional pencil and Photoshop coloring blend. I like shading with a pencil, but of course I like the finished look of Photoshop too; so expect a lot of new looks in the coming pages until I land on whatever mix feels right.
As always, thank you all so much for your continued support! Don’t forget to like the Ishea fan page on Facebook and check the official website regularly for updates.
Thanks again!

Page 10 — affectionately known as “the page that nearly killed me”!
This is the first page of the comic that is in full color. The majority of the story will still be drawn predominantly in greyscale, but you can expect little treats like this now and then on important pages.
Page 9 (almost there!)
Thanks for your patience, everyone. Love you all!
Real life has been kicking me in the ‘nads lately, but that’s no excuse! I’ll have Page 10 up before you all know it.
Thank you all so much for your continued support and love.

Good morning, tumblr!
First, I’d like to thank everyone who follows this blog, likes the Facebook fan page, or otherwise has helped and supported me in this endeavor. Y’all are just so awesome and your support is invaluable!
I figured it would be fair to give you all an update on my life and the comic’s progress. I’ve been reading a great deal lately — studying the dark ages, medieval times, castle history. There’s so much interesting stuff and so much to learn it’s just awesome!
Recently I’ve been mostly focusing on the castle and garrison designs, since the castle is about to make its debut on page 10. It’s been an arduous process, all this world-building. It’s almost entirely new to me, so it’s been really fun watching everything come together in my notebooks and sketchbooks.
I’m hoping to get some more solid details on my Wales trip solidified. It’s still just a notion, but I’ve done plenty of traveling in my life and I look forward to making a more realistic plan. My plan is to castle-hop and bring my sketchbook. If you have a favorite Welsh castle or know of any castles you think I should visit, please leave me a note!
I have never been to the UK at all, so it should be an interesting experience. I hope I will be able to rent a car or whatever is necessary. I don’t know about age limits or anything over there, but I assume that if I am 25 and can rent a car in America (where ages limits always seem to be higher than in foreign countries), that it shouldn’t be a problem. But we’ll see!
If you have any UK knowledge, do please throw it my way! All advice is appreciated.

The light novel chapters now match the rest of the website in black and grey — no longer must you suffer through that godforsaken lavender backdrop!
Chapter 7 is also complete and posted!
Still to be completed is the Light Novel Archive, which will probably take the form of the chapter table that used to be on the main page.
(And again, the art at the top of each chapter is thanks to the lovely Jamie Kinosian. I’ll be using more of my own art around the website in the future, but I don’t want to take that one down just yet! I like it too much.)

Miraculously, with barely more than an hour to spare, I managed to make my November 1 deadline! The first FIVE pages of the webcomic and the newly renovated website design are now online for your viewing pleasure.
And wow is it ever an improvement…
Page 2 is finished!
Page 3 is now underway.
(I know I said “no peeking”, but I couldn’t resist a little unfinished preview.)
No peeking, though!
And just a reminder to everyone out there, if you follow me, I always follow back. I want to know who everyone out there is and what you’re like. I can’t even put into words how much I appreciate every single one of you that has shown support for Ishea and for all my stubbornness. Thank you for being wonderful!
So please, don’t be shy. The follow button is right up top, and I’ll follow you right back!

Hello, everyone!
If y’all were curious about the lack of updates, that’s due in part to the fact that I’ve begun working on the Ishea webcomic.

I’d like to complete probably 3-5 pages before adding the comic to the website.
I have always wanted Ishea to be either a comic or a game. Writing it has been the best way to both outline the story and feel out where it’s going to go while simultaneously being a medium I can share with others.
(A slight revamp of the website is also in order, since both the comic and the light novel will obviously be hosted there together.)

Again, thank you all so much for your support. It’s been a long inner debate of ups and downs, but I’m happy and proud to finally have the Ishea project in motion.
Thank you again!

This chapter was a particular challenge. This is the first chapter that consisted originally of a true back-and-forth with more than one POV. I pretty much had to rewrite everything. How exhausting! But worth it.
